Swing 2000

Staged portraits of friends and family of various occupation conveyed through the contrast of a child?s swing and a memorial character of a bust. The portraits were created by a combination of two different exposition segments. The portraited stood motionless in complete darkness, but over a minute?s time they were gradually illuminated. The memorial character, rigidity, deadness, stiffness of the expression of portraits comes from the exposition time. During such long exposition the effect of the particular rigidity is both revelation and projection of the inner into the face expression of the portraited.
